WEDDING OFFICIANT HONORARIUM

A FEE GUIDE:

A wedding officiant does not only pertain to a wedding.  It can pertain to other life cycle events such as:
baptisms, memorials, anniversaries, baby naming, christenings, funerals, and other life cycle ceremonies.

A minister, priest or rabbi...Whether you know the Officiant beforehand or not, by the time the Officiant marries you, you will feel like you have known one another for all time!  I always feel and have a very special bonding with the couples I marry. Your Officiant is a very vital part of your wedding day.

You must have a Ceremony and a marriage license signed by a legal representative of the State where you are married in order to be legally married.  This is true for Destination Weddings as well.  Every clerguy Officiant MUST sign the marriage license and send it to the County Clerk's Office to be recorded.  If they don't, even though the license may be signed in front of a hundred witnesses, you will NOT be married.  Each state has its own laws, but in Florida, this law prevails.  Marriage Licenses must be in the County Clerk's Office with ten (10) days from when the wedding actually occured.  I have it in the next business day to be safe.

So, whether you have anything else or not in your plans for the wedding day, choosing an Officiant is a #1 prority , and the honorarium (cost) for you, the couple - whatever it may be - should be considered a very small part of the overall expense of the occasion.

DEFINITION OF HONORARIUM

Payment that is given to a professional for services rendered.  This custom has become interwoven into society as it is a fundamental part of life.

Honorariums - can range from $100.00 to upwards of $2,000.00 dollars.  A wedding officiant cost 1% - 2% of your entire wedding budget.   My fee is $275.00 for a weekend day (Fri, Sat & Sunday)  or  $200.00 for a weekday (Mom, Tues, Weds, & Thurs.)  If you request a Rehearsal, the fee is $75.00 on all 7 days.

OUR FEES:

Are dependent upon certain days of the week.

Monday - Thursday = $200.00

Friday - Saturday - Sunday =  $ 275.00

REHEARSAL:   Fee remains the same for ALL 7 days = $75.00

I have kept my fees the same for the past five (5) years.   I have reduced my weekday fees $ 75.00 because of the downturned economy we are experiencing as a nation.   My former fee for any 7 days was always $ 275.00.  However, I feel we should support our bridal couples operating on a "fixed or reduced income" so as to assist them in finding a professional officiant at a reasonable and affordable rate.

I don't care how BIG your wedding is, or how many guests are attending, our rates always stay the same.   The fees reflect the amount of work involved in making your Special Day a success.   There is NO such thing as a "little wedding."   Whether your having 10 guests or 1,000 guests, my prices stay the same.    In researching a wedding for a bridal couple, the same amount of work and due dilligence goes into the planning of your wedding ceremony, ...no matter the size.   I feel that Officiants should be compensated for the work that we do.   There are many years of professional training, education and effort  that goes behind your special day.  The Officiant has the smallest fee of every vendor involved with your wedding.
